Four, six or even seven courses at the highest culinary level plus a ride on a rollercoaster before or after? This combination is only available at Europa-Park – thanks to the “Ammolite – The Lighthouse Restaurant”. Under the management of head chef, Peter Hagen-Wiest, it is the only two star restaurant in an amusement park worldwide. The gourmet restaurant in the lighthouse of the “Bell Rock” hotel offers the enjoyment culture of an international kitchen, incorporating regional tastes with a sophisticated ambience. It was awarded two Michelin stars for the sixth time in 2020 – and now it has received its next great accolade: the trade journal “Der Feinschmecker (The Gourmet)” selected the “Ammolite” to be restaurant of the year 2020. Peter Hagen-Wiest’s conceptualisation of a high-precision, contemporary classic in his kitchen was given as the reason for the award. “It is difficult to conceive how the link between home and the big wide world could be improved”. According to the experts “the excellent, but in no way stuffy service under the management of sommelier Marco Gerlach and the extensive wine selection (450 items) also provide an outstanding total experience”.
