Sport strengthens for life

Europa-Park is partner of the „Laureus Sport for Good Foundation“ to support disadvantaged children

Europa-Park is partner of the „Laureus Sport for Good Foundation“ to support disadvantaged children. On the one hand, Laureus stands for glamour: once a year, the red carpet is rolled out for the sports stars of the planet when the „Laureus World Sports Awards“ are presented - the „Oscars“ of sport. But that is only one side of the foundation’s work. Following the words of its former patron Nelson Mandela - „Sport has the power to change the world“ - the „Laureus Sport for Good Foundation“ supports over 100 social sports projects worldwide that strengthen disadvantaged children and young people in their personal development and give them a better future. And Europa-Park has been helping with this since 2017. As part of the cooperation, one focus is on holding fundraising campaigns and further training events for young people from Laureus projects.

„The goals and values of Laureus such as team spirit, respect, discipline and fair play are a perfect fit for Europa-Park," explains Roland Mack. „Whether it‘s street football, skateboarding, therapeutic horseback riding, basketball or boxing, these activities not only motivate the children to lead active lives, but they also give them a foothold in the long term.“
